This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider petitioner's application dated 12.06.2019 for mutation of revenue records in respect of the property bearing Plot No.2A, Alagiri Nagar East also known as Alagiri Nagar East Street (earlier known as North Gangai Amman Koil Street), Vadapalani, Chennai-600 026, comprised in Town Survey No.36 34 S.No.122/4--1 Town Survey No.36/22 as per patta Block No.2, Situate at Puliyur Village, Egmore Taluk (earlier Egmore - Nungambakkam Taluk), Chennai District measuring an extent of 1140 sq.ft as per patta (1200 sq.ft as per document ) in favour and for issuance of patta to him within a specific time frame.

ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the application submitted by the petitioner on 12.06.2019, wherein the petitioner is seeking for issuance of patta with respect to the subject property.

The case of the petitioner is that he has purchased the property by virtue of a registered sale deed dated 22.02.2007. The petitioner made an application for issuance of patta before the respondent. Since the same was not considered, the present Writ Petition has been filed before https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ Page numbers
this Court, seeking for appropriate directions. 3.
Mr.S.N.Parthasarathi, learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondent, by relying upon the written instructions received from the respondent, submitted that the petitioner will have to make an application before the Tahsildar, Avadi, who is the competent authority to consider the application for the purpose of grant of patta in favour of the petitioner.

In reply to the said submissions, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner will give an application before the concerned Tahsildar and this Court can fix some time limit for the purpose of passing orders on the application.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the petitioner to submit a fresh application before the Tahsildar, Avadi, along with all the relevant documents. The Tahsildar, Avadi, on receipt of the application, shall consider the application given by the petitioner strictly in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of six weeks from the date of submission of the application by the petitioner. 6.
This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
