O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus, seeking a direction against the respondents to consider the representation dated 19.03.2025 given by the petitioner.

2.It had been contended in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition that the petitioner had been working as Village Administrative Officer right from the year 2013. He had been appointed in Cuddalore District and not in Cuddalore proper town but in Chidambaram which is also within the same District. The petitioner further contended that he has a duty to care for his aged mother, who is presently in need of his assistance and companionship. He had submitted a representation requesting to be transferred to Cuddalore.

3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate for the respondents.

4.A direction is given to the first respondent, the District Collector, Cuddalore District, to consider the petitioner's representation Page No.2 of 4

dated 19.03.2025. The first respondent shall examine the reasons stated therein, including the petitioner's claim regarding the necessity of providing care and companionship to his aged mother and take an appropriate decision in accordance with law. Such decision shall be taken within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
