Respondent Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner representation dated 25.05.2016 and 02.06.2016 and thereby direct the respondent to grant permission to the petitioner to conduct the cultural programmes in the Arulmighu Shri Chelli Amman Thirukovil Temple Festival which is going to be held on 21.06.2016 and provide adequate police protection towards the same.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
The petitioner claims to be the Dharmakartha as well as one of the Committee Members of the Temple Festival Organizing Committee of the Temple, viz., Arulmigu Sri Chelli Amman Temple, situate at Kankeyanallur Village, Katpadi Taluk, Vellore District. He submitted a representation/application dated 25.05.2016 to the respondent, seeking permission to conduct a cultural program on 21.06.2016, in connection with the temple festival, which includes song and dance programme and since, he has not been favoured with any kind of response, came forward to file this writ petition.
Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, on instructions, would submit that in the event of permission being granted to conduct the song and dance programme, there will not be any law, order or communal problem and no vulgarity or obscenity will be there and hence, prays for appropriate orders. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
This Court heard the submissions of Mr.R.Govindasamy, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice for the respondent.
Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the application/representation, directs the respondent to consider the application/representation dated 25.05.2016, in accordance with law and pass orders on or before 19.06.2016 and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner forthwith. The writ petition is disposed of, accordingly. No costs.
