O R D E R

The present criminal original petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to file a final report in crime No.167 of 2015 on the file of the respondent police within a specified time as may be directed by this court.

2. The petitioner herein lodged a complaint on 14.03.2015 against one Prakash, Lakshmanan and Kuznanthai ammal stating that the above said persons damaged fences, which had been put up around the petitioner's property and also trespassed into the same. When the petitioner questioned the same, the above said persons attacked the petitioner with stone, wooden log and also threatened him with dire consequences. Hence, he lodged a complaint before the respondent police on 14.03.2015. The said complaint was registered on 13.04.2015 by the respondent in Crime No.167 of 2015 under Sections 294(b), 341, 427, 447 and 506(ii) of IPC. But, till date final report has not been filed. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that after registering the case, the respondent police has not taken any steps to investigate the case in Crime No.167 of 2015 and nearly seven months have lapsed from the date of registering the complaint. Hence, he prays to complete the investigation and to file the final report.

4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the case has already been registered and the same is pending investigation.

5.Considering the submissions of both sides, this Court directs the respondent police to complete the investigation in Crime No.67 of 2015 and file the final report as early as possible, preferably, within a period of four months, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
