Respondents Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the second and third respondents herein to restore the electricity supply connection bearing L.T.Sc.No.161-017-668 to the petitioner's residence bearing Door No.16-A, Anna Street, Old Thirumangalam, Chennai- 600 040.

O R D E R

Mr.M.Elumalai, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the first respondent. Mr.P.R.Dhilipkumar, learned counsel takes notice for the second and third respondents. By consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the second and third respondents herein to restore the electricity supply connection bearing L.T.Sc.No.161-017-668 to the petitioner's residence bearing Door No.16-A, Anna Street, Old Thirumangalam, Chennai.

3. Today, when this writ petition is taken for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the second and third respondents has submitted that eventhough they are ready to provide reconnection to the petitioner's aforesaid premises there were obstructions by the fourth respondent and hence the third respondent has given a letter on 14.05.2019 to the Inspector of Police, Thirumangalam Police station seeking police protection for reconnection of electricity. The said letter has also been produced before this Court.

4. Recording the aforesaid letter dated 14.05.2019, the first respondent is directed to provide thepolice protection to the petitioner's premises for reconnection of electricity and on such police protection being given, the third respondent is directed to provide reconnection of electricity to the petitioner's premises, within a period of two days from today.

5. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is also closed.
