O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a limited prayer to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to finally conclude the Disciplinary Proceedings initiated against the petitioner in Charge Memo in Ref. No.23791/ESI/SC/1/2014-2 dated 27.11.2014 under Rule 17(b) of the CCA Rules, 1973.

Learned Counsel for the petitioner submitted that the

petitioner has submitted an explanation dated 10.04.2015 to the Charge Memo served on him dated 27.11.2014. He further submitted that the petitioner is under suspension from 25.09.2017 and the respondent has not mentioned the pendency of the charge memo dated 27.11.2014. Therefore, the learned Counsel sought a direction from this Court to dispose of the disciplinary proceedings pending against the petitioner within a stipulated time fixed by this Court. 3.

Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondent, sought six weeks time to complete the pending enquiry.

Considering the limited prayer made in the writ petition and also taking into consideration the submission of the learned Special Government Pleader, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court directs the respondent to conclude the disciplinary proceedings pending against the petitioner, within a period of five months from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order. No costs.
