O R D E R

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 2 The petitioner would claim that he is otherwise abled [physically challenged] person, having disability percentage of 75%. He was also issued with the Certificate to that effect by the Department of Rehabilitation of the Disabled in the form of National ID Card and Passbook with disability certificate. The petitioner would state that his father M.A.Arunachalam was allotted a Snack Bar near Foreshore Bus Stand, vide allotment Memo No.033576/R3/EO/PTC/85 dated 19.09.1985 and was running the stall without any objection and by complying the food safety norms and the petitioner was assisting his father right from the year 2006. The petitioner would further state that his father passed away on 27.03.

2016 due to old age and after his demise, the petitioner is continue to run the Snack Bar and he has approached the respondents very many times for transfer of license in his name and the last of such representation was submitted on 23.04.2016 and since no orders are passed, he is constrained to approach this Court by filing this writ petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.

3 Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Paramasivadoss, learned counsel who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

4 Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner either in his representation or in the writ petition, directs the 1st respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 23.04.2016 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.

5 The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.

6 Since the petitioner apprehends that his possession is likely to be disturbed, status quo that exists as on today, shall be maintained by the respondents till the disposal of the representation.
