The present petition has been filed to direct the respondent to register the complaint of the petitioner dated 06.10.2015 and to proceed in accordance with law.

2. The petitioner is a research scholar in the Government Arts College, Salem and doing M.Phil. He belongs to Schedule Caste community. The petitioner was assigned to one Ranganathan for doing M.Phil in the said Government college. The said Ranganathan has given sexual harassment to the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner lodged a complaint with the respondent police. But, no action was taken till date.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

4. Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on receipt of the complaint, a detailed enquiry was conducted and on enquiry, it was revealed that the allegation is false. Hence, the complaint given by the petitioner has been closed. The Additional Public Prosecutor has also produced a copy of the closure report for the perusal of the Court and the copy of the same was also given to the learned counsel for the petitioner.

5. Since the complaint has already been closed, nothing survives for adjudication in this petition. Hence, recording the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this petition is dismissed.
