Respondents The writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issue of a writ of mandamus, directing the fourth respondent to process and pass orders on the representation of the petitioner, dated 17.11.2014 requesting for furnishing the documents pertaining to Original Settlement Register and the old Paimash numbers pertaining to S.No.117/1 to 5 of No.27, Jaaheer Ammapalayam, Salem Taluk, Salem District and its extracts of Original Revenue Extracts of Chitta, Patta and Adangal pertaining to 1930-1960 for the said property after retrieving the records and reports from the respondents 2, 8, and 9 herein, within a time limit that may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel, appearing on behalf of the petitioner, as well as the learned counsel, appearing on behalf of the respondents.

2.This writ petition has been filed, praying that this Court may be pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the fourth respondent to consider and pass orders on the representation of the petitioner, dated 17.11.2014, requesting for the furnishing of the documents, pertaining to the Original Settlement Register and the old Paimash numbers, pertaining to S.No.117/1 to 5 of No.27, in Jaaheer Ammapalayam, Salem Taluk, Salem District and the original extracts of Chitta, Patta and Adangal, pertaining to 1930-1960, for the said property, after retrieving the records and reports from the respondents 2, 8,

and 9 herein, within the stipulated time.

3.Though various grounds have been raised in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, the learned counsel, appearing on behalf of the petitioner has submitted that it would suffice, if the fourth respondent is directed to comply with the request made in the letter, in No.43473/ep. M2(1)/20141, dated 02.12.2014, within the time frame, as may be fixed by this Court.

In view of the averments made in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition and in view of the submissions made by the learned counsel, appearing on behalf of the petitioner, this Court finds it appropriate to direct the fourth respondent to comply with the request made in the letter, in No.43473/ep. M2 (1)/2014-1, dated 02.12.2014, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner shall furnish a copy of the letter No.43473/ep. M2(1)/2014-1, dated 02.12.2014, to the fourth respondent, along with a copy of this order. However, it is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter, by passing this order.

The writ petition is disposed of, with the above directions. No costs. Consequently, connected M.P. is closed. Sd/- Asst. Registrar.
