ORDER

The petitioner apprehends arrest for the alleged offence under Sections 76(1), 4(1), 5,8,9(1) of Chit Funds Act, 1982, in Crime No.10 of 2024 on the file of the respondent police seeks anticipatory bail. 1/4

2. The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner under the pretext of Self Help Group had cheated 22 victims to the tune of Rs.1,52,11,000/-. Hence the case/

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the IP proceedings is pending against the petitioner and the victims. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any stringent condition that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the magnitude of the amount cheated by the petitioner and though IP proceedings is pending, custodial interrogation of the petitioner is required in this case. Hence , this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
