O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to accept 50% of the demand amount as per the letter dated 24.05.2022 of the 2 nd respondent, based on the representation made by the petitioner on 03.04.2025.

2. The petitioner is willing to deposit 50% of the impugned demand made by the 2 nd respondent. In the earlier writ petition filed by the petitioner in W.P.No.19441 of 2022, the demand notice was challenged and since the interim order was not complied with, the writ petition itself was dismissed. In the present writ petition, the petitioner has not questioned the demand notice and he has only sought for permission to deposit 50% of the demand amount for restoration of the electricity service connection. If the petitioner does not challenge the demand notice, he has to pay the entire amount which was imposed as penalty. 2/4

3. When the above was brought to the notice of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned counsel sought for the permission of this Court to withdraw this writ petition and to file an appropriate petition to restore/modify the order passed in W.P.No.19441 of 2022.

Granting such liberty to the petitioner, this writ petition is closed.
