O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to register the sale deed dated 27.03.2025 executed by the petitioner and to release the document.

2. By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The specific case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is the absolute owner of the property in Gramanatham Survey No.168/3A measuring to an extent of 900 sq.ft, situated at Vinoba Nagar, Anakaputhur Village, Pallavaram Taluk and he has purchased the property from his vendor vide sale deed dated 27.03.2025. The petitioner executed a sale deed dated 27.03.2025 and when the same was presented for registration before the respondent, the respondent had refused to register the sale deed on the ground that the subject property is a Gramanatham land without issuing refusal slip. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. At the outset it is submitted by learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondent that the petitioner may resubmit the documents to the respondent and the same shall be registered if it is in accordance with law, within a time frame fixed by this Court

In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of with the direction to the petitioner to resubmit the documents / sale deed to the respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On resubmission, the respondent shall register the sale deed within a period of two weeks thereafter, if it is otherwise in order. If for any reason, the registering authority refuses to register the sale deed, the same would be done by issuing a refusal slip assigning reason.
