Prayer in W.P.1714/2020.:Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to take appropriate action based upon the petitioner's representation dated 09.10.2019 and dispose the same.

This matter is taken up for hearing through Video Conferencing mode.

2. Mr.D.Suriyanarayanan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent of both parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. This writ petition is filed for a mandamus to direct the respondents to take appropriate action based upon the petitioner's representation dated 09.10.2019 and dispose of the same.

4. It is stated that the petitioner is owning a land, for which, he wants to get water supply from Thadapalli canal. Making such request, the petitioner made a representation on 09.10.2019 before the District Collector and other officials. The grievance of the petitioner is that the said representation has not been considered by the said Authorities so far.

5. This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, as it is for the first respondent viz., the District Collector to consider and decide. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with a direction to the District Collector viz., the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 09.10.2019 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
