ORDER

This petition has been filed for a direction to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to give police protection to the petitioner and his family members by considering the petitioner's representation dated 11.09.2020.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner along with respondents 3 to 5, have invested money in the M/s. Ampal Combats situated at Sulur, Coimbatore, for interest. In fact, the petitioner also invested a sum of Rs.31 lakhs in the said Company. Now, the Directors of the said Company, after receipt of the entire amount, absconded and their whereabouts also not known. Therefore, the private respondents viz., respondents 3 to 5 threatened the petitioner with dire consequences. Therefore, he lodged a complaint on the file of the respondents 1 and 2 herein seeking police protection. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 has submitted that the petitioner has acted as an agent for M/s. Ampal Combats, Finance Institution and only through him, the respondents 3 to 5 have invested huge money. So far, the said institution have collected more than 50 Crores and thereafter, failed to return the entire amount and they have absconded. The respondents 3 to 5 have asked the petitioner to return the amount since the petitioner being an introducer and acted as an agent of the said Finance Company,. Therefore, only to escape from the clutches of law, the petitioner has lodged a complaint seeking police protection with the second respondent.

4. Heard Mr.S.Krishnamoorthy, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Karthikeyan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, for the respondents 1 and 2.

5. It is seen that the petitioner along with the respondents 3 to 5 herein have invested money with M/s. Ampal Combats for interest. It seems that the Finance Company has now closed its business and swindled the amount for more than 50 Crores. The petitioner has acted as an agent and hence, now he is responsible to answer to the respondents 3 to 5 herein. Therefore, this petition is devoid of merits.

6. In the result, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
