Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 7.7.2015, by relaxing the age criteria fixed for the post of Construction Helper (Work Charged).

By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioner would state that he, after completing his Secondary School Leaving Certificate examination, has underwent Industrial Training Institute (Electrician/Wireman) Course in the year 1997-99 and secured good marks. He would further state that the second respondent has called for filling up of the post of Construction Helper from the eligible candidates, who possesses the above said qualification, subject to the condition that the age at the time of submitting the application, should not exceed 35 years as on 6.7.2015.

3.The grievance expressed by the petitioner, is that since no selection took place for the said post, for so many years, he is now over-aged by two months and in this regard, has submitted a representation to the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Puducherry on 7.7.2015, and it has been forwarded to the first respondent and he came forward to file this writ petition seeking disposal of the said representation.

4.Heard the submissions of the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, and Mr.R.Sreedhar, learned Government Advocate (Pondy), who accepted notice on behalf of the respondents. 5.This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner, and without going into the merits of the same, directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 7.7.2015, in accordance with law and pass orders thereon within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
