ORDER
This writ petition has been filed to direct the 1st respondent to issue the Eligibility Certificate in respect of the petitioner's application, Application No.ID:R.15012/033896/2025 dated 20.03.2025 and to consequently permit the petitioner to write FMGE Exam by the 2nd respondent/National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences within a time frame. 2.The petitioner states that she is a Foreign Medical Graduate from India, having completed her medical education in Zambia during the Academic Years 2018 to 2025. It is the case of the petitioner that the 1st respondent/National Medical Commission has to issue an Eligibility Certificate in favour of the petitioner which is essential for continuation of the petitioner's further studies and for lawful medical practice in India.
Therefore, the petitioner applied through online web portal of the 1st respondent on 20.03.2025 for issuance of Eligibility Certificate vide Application No.R.15012/033896/2025-Regn. The petitioner has also submitted all the requisite documents. However, there is no update from the 1st respondent since October, 2025. The petitioner made detailed representations on 15.12.2025 and 07.01.2026 for expeditious disposal of her application dated 20.03.2025. Since no action is taken, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.
3.Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is not in a position to apply for FMGE Examination for want of Eligibility Certificate and hence, prays that this Court may direct the 1st respondent to consider the application of the petitioner and pass orders within a time frame. 4.Mr.A.Kumaraguru, learned Standing Counsel, who takes notice for the 1st respondent, would submit that the petitioner's application will be considered by the 1st respondent on merits and appropriate orders will be passed. 5.In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court directs the 1st respondent to consider the application filed by the petitioner for issuance of Eligibility Certificate vide Application No.ID:R.15012/033896/2025 dated 20.03.2025 and her last representation dated 07.01.
2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. For ready reference, the petitioner may submit a copy of her representations along with a copy of this order before the 1st respondent, so as to enable the 1st respondent to pass appropriate orders.
