O R D E R

The prayer sought for in this writ petition is to issue a mandamus, directing the respondents to correct the community as "Hindu Gavara" instead of "Hindu Kammavar" in the petitioner's

school and college records and consequently, furnish the copies of corrected records to the petitioner.

According to the petitioner, he belongs to "Gavara Naidu Community", however, in the petitioner's school and college records, his community name has been mistakenly entered as "Kammavar Naidu Community". It is stated that the Revenue Authorities, after detailed enquiry, has issued a Community Certificate dated 11.06.2014 to the petitioner, certifying the petitioner as "Gavara Community". Thereafter, the petitioner submitted a representation on 21.06.2014, correcting his community name in the school and college records, but, the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the present writ petition.

3. Heard Mr.R.Gururaj, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.C.Munusamy, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, who submitted that if the petitioner is able to furnish the required documents, his representation would be considered by the respondents on merits.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the submission made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court without going into the merits of the case, directs the petitioner to produce the required documents to the respondents along with a copy of this order within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the same and on such production, the respondents shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks thereafter. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
