Writ petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India for issuance of a WRIT OF MANDAMUS or any other appropriate Writ, Order, or Direction, directing the Respondents to transfer petitioner husband, Mr. Appu (a) Puthur Appu, from Puzhal Central Prison-I to Trichy Central Prison or Salem Central Prison, and pass such further or other orders as this Honourable Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case and thus render justice.

Mr.Muniyapparaj, learned Additional Public Prosecutor assisted by Mr.M.Sylvester John, learned counsel accepts notice for the respondents and is armed with instructions to enable this Court to dispose the matter finally, even at the stage of admission. Hence, by consent of both sides, final orders are passed in this Writ Petition.

2. The petitioner who is the wife of Appu (a) Puthur Appu (under trial prisoner), seeks a mandamus for transfer of the under trial prisoner from Puzhal Central Prison-I to Trichy Central Prison or Salem Central Prison.

3. Mr. Muniyapparaj, learned Additional Public Prosecutor states that the respondents will dispose the representation of the petitioner dated 30.03.2026 in accordance with law, within a period of two (2) weeks from today.
