O R D E R

The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a mandamus to direct the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 16.10.2024 on merits in the light of G.O. (Ms) No. 152 dated 01.12.2019 issued by the Highways and Minor Ports (HM1) Department by conducting a de novo enquiry and by providing an opportunity for a fair hearing.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that he has given a representation dated 16.10.2024 to the respondent to consider him for the promotional post of Junior Draftsman. However, such representation is yet to be considered by the respondent.

3. At this juncture, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent would contend that the petitioner is not eligible to be considered for the said post.

4. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the above disputed fact, without going into the merits of the matter, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.10.2024, and pass order on it's own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
