The petitioners were granted anticipatory bail in Crime No.162 of 2024 by this Court in Crl.O.P.No.18410 of 2024 on 01.08.2024, one of the condition is that "the petitioners are directed to deposit a total sum of Rs.20,000/- to the credit of the Advocate Clerk Association, Cuddalore District within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order". The petitioners were unable to mobilize funds. Hence, with a delay, on 25.03.2025 the amount of Rs.20,000/- had been deposited and the copy of the receipt produced. For this reason, the petitioner had filed Crl.M.P.No.2154 of 2025 seeking extension of time and this Court had granted two weeks extended time by an order dated 10.02.2025. The petitioner had made a copy application on 12.02.2025. The extension order was delivered to him on 17.03.2025.

In the extension order copy, in the High Court Seal, the Section Officer had not signed. Hence, at the time of executing sureties the trial Court had returned the bond on 27.03.2025 and for this reason, the present petition has been filed. The reason given by the petitioner is acceptable. For the fault of the Section Officer of the High Court, the petitioner cannot be penalized.

2. In view of the same, time is extended by two weeks for execution of surety bond.
