The present Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent police to complete the investigation and file final report in Crime No.816 of 2015 pending on the file of the 2nd respondent police within a stipulated period.

It is the case of the petitioner that he sent a representation to the respondent police on 26.09.2015 requesting them to take legal action against his son-in-law, namely Vinoth, his father Sekar and his mother Anjalai and other-in-laws by altering Section 174(3) Cr.P.C. in Crime No.816 of 2015 registered by the 2nd respondent police, on the ground that they are solely responsible for the death of his daughter, Vijayashanthi. Since no action is taken on his representation till date, the petitioner has come up with the present petition seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent police to complete the investigation and file Final Report in Crime No.816/2015. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the matter is pending with the Revenue Divisional Officer for enquiry and that once the Report is received from him, the respondents will proceed further in accordance with law.

Recording the said submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Court directs the 2nd respondent to expedite the investigation, complete the same and file Final Report in Crime No.816 of 2015, as early as possible. This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
