This court in W.P.No.4914 of 2024, by order dated 22.07.2024, ordered as follows:

"7. In view of the above facts, it is made clear that the prayer sought for by the petitioner deserves merit consideration and the same is accepted by this Court. Accordingly, this writ petition is allowed. No order as to costs. However, the first respondent is hereby directed to take appropriate action against the Block Development Officer (who has wasted the Government funds) in the manner known to law. The petitioner is also at liberty to remove the alleged tar road with the help of local police if necessary and approach the concerned authorities to take action against the concerned Block Development Officer."

2. The learned Additional Government Pleader has produced copy of the charged memo, under section 17A of the Tamil Nadu Civil Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, issued to the Block Development Officer. As the respondent already initiated action against the Block Development Officer by issuing charge memo, the contempt petition is closed. However, the respondents shall ensure that the proceedings against the Block Development Officer are taken to its logical end as expeditiously as possible. 18.06.2025 dsn Internet: Yes To 2/4
