O R D E R

The instant writ petition has been filed in the nature of writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to transfer the petitioner from the Government Engineering College, Thanjavur to the Annamalai University, Chidambaram on Compassionate Grounds considering his extreme and exceptional circumstances of ailing (diagnosed with stage IV cancer).

2. Heard Mr.L.Chandrakumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.C.Jayaprakash, learned Government Advocate for the respondents 1, 2 & 4 and Mr.E.C.Ramesh, learned Standing Counsel for the 3rd respondent.

3. It is the submission of the petitioner that the petitioner requested for transfer from the Government Engineering College, Thanjavur to the 2/4

Annamalai University, Chidambaram. In this regard, he has given a representation on 12.04.2025 before the first respondent.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent would fairly submit that the representation would be considered within a reasonable time.

5. In such view of the matter, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, deems it appropriate to direct the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.04.2025 and pass orders on it's own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six(6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. In the result, this writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected WMP is also closed.
