The present criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to complete the investigation in an expeditious manner and to file a final report within a specified time frame, in respect of the Crime No.2094 of 2014 on the file of the respondent.

2. The case of the petitioner is that on 22.10.2014 around 4.00 p.m. lorry bearing registration No.TN32-S-3123 belonging to the petitioner went missing when the said vehicle was parked by the petitioner near RBS ATM, Industrial Estate, Guindy. In this regard, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the respondent police and the same was registered for the offence under section 379 IPC in Crime No.2094 of 2015. But till date, there is no progress in the investigation of the said case. Hence, the petitioner has come up with the present petition.

3. I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the complaint has been lodged against unknown persons. Hence, it would take some time to complete the investigation.

5. In view of the submissions made on either side, this court directs the respondent to investigate the case in Crime No.2094 of 2014 pending on his file and file a final report as expeditiously as possible.

The Criminal Original Petition is ordered accordingly.
