The petitioner is the widow of Thiru A.Thiyagarajan, who was employed as Assistant Civil Surgeon at Primary Health Centre, Bhavani. The husband of the petitioner died due to heart attack on 26.8.2007. He is survived by the petitioner, her mother-in-law and two children. The petitioner submitted an application for Compassionate Appointment as early as on 26.5.2008. However, there was no follow up action taken by the respondent resulting in filing this writ petition.
2. The second respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the application dated 26.5.2008 on merits and as per law. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

3. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
