ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a directions to the 3 rd respondent to settle gratuity to the petitioners along with 15 percentage compound interest per annum.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioners were employed as teachers under the 3 rd respondent and they were retired from service on various dates. However, the third respondent has not paid gratuity to the petitioners. Therefore, the petitioners have made application before the second and third respondents and the same has not been considered till date. Hence, the learned counsel prays that this Court may direct the second respondent to interfere with the issue and pass appropriate orders within the reasonable time as fixed by this Court.

3. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 & 2 submitted that the representation will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Additional Government Pleader and perused the materials available on record. Since no adverse orders are passed against the third respondent and hence, notice to the third respondent is dispensed with.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in view of the limited request sought for by the petitioner, this court directs the petitioners to make a fresh representation to the second respondent within a period two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Upon receipt of such representation, the concerned officer shall consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation in terms of the Section 8 of the Gratuity Act within a period of four weeks, thereafter.
