Respondents Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to assign due seniority to the petitioner in the post of Forest Watcher by taking into account his service as Clonal Watcher from 11.1.2000 to 18.5.2009 and to grant all consequential benefits including promotion as Forest Guard with retrospective effect from the date of promotion of his immediate junior with consequential benefits.

By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
2.The petitioner would state that he was appointed as a Clonal Watcher in the Tamil Nadu Forest Plantation Corporation Limited (TAFCORN), which is a Government of Tamil Nadu Undertaking, during the year 2000, after following the proper procedure, and he is a Sportsman and under the Sports Quota, he and other similarly https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
placed persons were appointed as Forest Watchers in terms of G.O.Ms.No.132, Environment and Forests (FR-II) Department, dated 18.5.2002, vide proceedings of the second respondent dated 18.5.2009. 3.It is further stated by the petitioner that he submitted a representation dated 10.2.2015, to the respondents praying for assignment of proper seniority by taking into consideration the services rendered by him as a Clonal Watcher in TAFCORN, and since no orders have been passed, came forward to file this writ petition. 4.Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, and Mr.N.Inbanathan, learned Government Advocate, who accepted notice on behalf of the first respondent.
5.Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the representation, directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.2.2015, in accordance with law, after putting on notice, the persons concerned, and pass orders thereon within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner as well as to the persons concerned.
