Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the claims of the petitioner based on his representation dated 15.05.2020 and pass orders on the same in regard to permanent status on completion of 480 days in a 24 Calendar months as per the Section 3(1) of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Establishment (Conferment of Permanent Status to Workmen) Act, 1981.

O R D E R Mr. P.Subramanian, learned counsel, takes notice for the respondents. With the consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2. This writ petition is filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the claims of the petitioner based on petitioner's representation dated 15.05.2020 and pass orders on the same with regard to permanent status on completion of 480 days in 24 Calendar months as per Section 3

(1) of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Establishment (Conferment of Permanent Status to Workmen) Act, 1981.

3. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the limited scope of the prayer that is sought for in this writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's representation this Court is inclined to direct the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.05.2020.

4. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.05.2020, and dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
