Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 3.7.2015, and to pass appropriate orders for advancement of the name of the petitioner in 'B' list in the rank of Sub Inspector of Police with effect from 8.12.2006, i.e., the date of temporary promotion as Sub Inspector of Police against existing Rank Promotees Quota for the year 2006-2007, within a time frame. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2.The facts leading to the filing of this writ petition, have been narrated in detail and in extenso in the order dated 26.2.2014, made in W.P.No.5603 of 2014, filed by the petitioner and therefore, it is not necessary to restate the same once again. 3.In compliance of the above cited order, the first respondent has rejected the request made by the petitioner, vide Memo dated 19.3.2014.

4.The grievance now expressed by the petitioner, is that as per the information furnished under the Right To Information Act, the Department has given particulars, which would disclose that there were 46 vacancies in total, to the post of Sub Inspector of Police for the year 2006-2007 and that apart, 26 vacancies to the post of Sub Inspector of Police for the year 2006-2007 and 30 vacancies for the year 2007-2008 have not been filled up and therefore, the petitioner may be accommodated as a Sub Inspector of Police with effect from 8.12.2006, and in this regard, has submitted a representation dated 3.7.2015, and though it was received and acknowledged, no orders have been passed and hence, he came forward to file this writ petition.

5.Heard the submissions of the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, and Mr.N.Srinivasan, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepted notice on behalf of the respondents. 6.Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner either in his representation, or in this writ petition, directs the first respondent to consider the his representation dated 3.7.2015, in accordance with law and pass orders thereon within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
