O R D E R

This petition has been filed seeking to quash the FIR in Crime No.28 of 2024 on the file of the first respondent, registered for the offence punishable under Section 69 of the BNS, 2023 on the ground of compromise entered into between the petitioner and the second respondent.

2. Heard both sides and perused the materials placed before this Court.

3. It is brought to the notice of this Court by the learned Government Advocate (crl.side) that the petitioner is alleged to have committed a serious and heinous offence as against the second respondent. Under the pretext of marriage, the petitioner is said to have developed a physical relationship with the second respondent, which resulted in pregnancy. The petitioner subsequently forced the second respondent to abort the pregnancy. Due to mental trauma, the second

respondent consumed mosquito repellent and was hospitalized for two days.

4. Considering the gravity and nature of the allegations, this Court is not inclined to quash the FIR merely on the basis of a compromise entered into between the parties. Such allegations involves serious questions of fact and public interest, and quashing at this stage would not be appropriate. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. The first respondent is directed to complete the investigation and file the final report within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
