O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to provide Police Protection along with gun man to the petitioner based on his representation dated 15.07.2015.

2. The petitioner is the District General Secretary of BJP Political Party, for the Thiruvarur District. He is also

in the position of the Town Secretary and Union Secretary of the BJP Political Party. The petitioner is using two wheelers to attend his party works. Since he is an active political party, he is having serious threat. In spite of it, on 30.03.2015, the petitioner has received an unanimous letter stating as follows:- "Ganesh, though we have warned you several times not to talk against 'Islath' even though you have criticizing the female child of muslim, based on the order from 'Allah' your head will be chopped for Gurbani". Hence, the petitioner lodged a complaint with the local police and he was issued with CSR in CSR No.142 of 2015. Since he is having continuous life threat, he has submitted a representation on 15.07.2015 to the respondents seeking police protection with Gunman. But, till date no orders have been passed. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition to provide police protection along with Gunman, based on his representation dated 15.07.2015.

3. Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that based on the complaint given by the petitioner, enquiry has been conducted and the same has been closed as mistake of fact. However, two police men were already provided to the petitioner for his protection.

4. Since already police protection was given, I am of the opinion that there is no need for this Court to give a direction to the respondents to provide police protection as prayed for by the petitioner. Recording the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this writ petition is closed. No costs.
