Prayer: Contempt Petition filed under filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act to punish the respondent for wilfull disobedience to the order of this Court dated 19.05.2022 made in W.P.No.12693 of 2022.

ORDER

The contempt petition is filed to punish the respondent for the willful disobedience of the order of this Court dated 19.05.2022 passed in W.P.No.12693 of 2022. This Court passed an order as 1/4

follows:- "5. It is needless to say that equal opportunity contemplated is to be adhered to while conducting the Brahmotsavam in Arulmigu Parasuramalingeshwarar Temple, Ayanavaram, Chennai - 23. This being the factum established, no further direction is required in this matter, as the respondent themselves notified that the Brahmotsavam will be conducted from 03.07.2022 to 15.07.2022 in the subject-temple.

6. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above observation. There will be no order as to costs."

2. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent made a submission that as per the order of this Court, the date for conducting Brahmotsavam has been fixed and there is no change or alteration or otherwise.

3. Thus, the respondent has not violated the order of this Court. The Brahmotsavam is scheduled to be conducted as per the date 2/4

announced and there is no bar for the petitioner to participate in the festival as a worshiper.

4. In view of the facts and circumstances, the petitioner has not made out any case for the purpose of initiation of contempt proceedings against the respondent. Accordingly, the Contempt Petition stands closed.
