Respondents Prayer:- The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 07/07/2021 as per the provision of the Street Vendors ( Protection of Livelihood Regulation) Act 2014 and till such time directing the respondents not to disturb with the running of the petitioner's Bunk Shop at No.15/1 Opposite to House Nos.5 and 6 College lane Near State Bank of India Local Head Office Outside Gate, Thousand lights, Chennai 600006 wherein selling Tea Coffee, Snacks and other allied eatable items. With the consent of parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

According to the petitioner, the petitioner is running a bunk shop at No.15/1, Opposite to House Nos.5 and 6, College lane, near State bank of India Local Head office outside gate, Thousand lights, Chennai. The petitioner has not obtained I.D. Card for street vending from the respondent. Therefore, the bunk shop of the petitioner was removed. The https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

petitioner made a representation to the respondent on 7.7.20212 under the provisions of The Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood Regulation) Act, 2014 for issuing ID Card and grant permission/certificate of vending for continuing his bunk shop business in the aforesaid place. However, no order was passed. Therefore, the petitioner has preferred the present writ petition before this Court.

3. Mrs.P.J.Ramadevi, Standing counsel takes notice for the first respondent. The learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondent Corporation would submit that without any licence or ID Card, the petitioner cannot run the said business. If any representation already sent to the respondent, same shall be considered in accordance with the provisions of the aforesaid Act.

Considering the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner, without expressing any opinion on merit, this Court is inclined to the direct the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 7.7.2020 and pass appropriate orders on merit and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The copy of the said representation be enclosed along with the order copy to the first respondent.

5. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of with the above directions. No Costs.
