By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. The petitioner has joined the services of the 5th respondent - School on 05.11.1968 as Secondary Grade Teacher and continued in that capacity till her retirement. The petitioner has
submitted a representation on 20.06.2015 stating among other things, after completion of 10 years of service she is eligible to get selection grade pay and after completion of 20 years of service, she is eligible to get special grade pay and on 17.04.1981, she moved to Selection grade and on 17.04.1991, she moved to the special grade and in the light of G.O.Ms.No.62, Finance [Pay Cell] Department dated 09.03.2015, she is entitled to be conferred with the said benefits and since no orders have been passed, she came forward to file this writ petition. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that in the light of the above Government Order, the petitioner is entitled to the conferment of selection grade and special grade of pay and hence, appropriate orders may be passed. This Court heard the submissions of Mr.S.Gunasekaran, learned Government Advocate who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
This Court, taking into consideration, the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner, directs the 4th respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 20.06.2015 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner herein.
