ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents to pay the amount towards encashment of Earned Leave surrendered by the petitioner before his retirement together with 18 percent interest per annum within the stipulated time as may be fixed by this Court.

2. The petitioner, a former employee of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, bearing Staff No. 013861, voluntarily retired from service on 31.01.2022 while working as a Senior Tradesman at Mettupalayam Technical Branch. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the respondent Corporation to pay the amount payable towards the encashment of earned leave surrendered by the petitioner together with 6% interest per annum within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
