ORDER
This petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to register the FIR on the complaint filed by the petitioner dated 7.11.2015 in CSR No. 602 of 2015 against the named person.
2. The petitioner is a widow and a senior citizen. The petitioner's son married one Asha Rani in the year 1994 and they are having two daughters. The daughter-in-law of the petitioner tortured the petitioner and very often, she used to indulge in quarrel. The petitioner's son also suffered a lot at her hands. However, for the sake of minor children, the petitioner's son filed O.P.No.171 of 2008 before the Family Court at Chennai for restitution of conjugal rights. The said O.P was allowed exparte. The petitioner is aged about 72 years. The daughterin-law of the petitioner is threatening the petitioner that she https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
would kill her and she started assaulting the petitioner. The petitioner sustained injuries. Hence, the petitioner lodged a complaint. Since no action was taken so far, the present petition has been filed.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.
4. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on the complaint given by the petitioner, CSR No.602 of 2015 was assigned and petition enquiry is pending.
5. Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the respondent police to conduct an enquiry on the complaint dated 07.11.2015 given by the petitioner and if there are materials indicating commission of offence, he is also directed to investigate the matter and proceed further in accordance with law, as early as possible.
6. This criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
