Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent and his subordinate officials to divide property tax with separate assessment numbers in respect of the property bearing Door No.5, 12th Cross Street, New Colony, Chrompet, Chennai-600 044, by assigning separate assessment number in the name of the petitioner namely Leela Balathandapani in respect of eastern half of the aforesaid property.

ORDER
This petitioner's father Sathiyanarayana purchased the property bearing door No.5, 12th Cross Street, New Colony, Chrompet, Chennai600 044 on 3.12.2006. Thereafter, he executed a Will bequeathing a portion of the property in favour of the petitioner and the rest of the property in favour of her sister namely, Lalitha Gourinath. Subsequently, the petitioner's father died on 04.01.2011 and the petitioner and her sister got divided the property. They applied for change of names in the property tax. In this regard, the petitioner gave a representation through advocate notice dated 24.4.2015 and https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
12.6.2015 and so far, the property tax assessment has not been changed in the name of the petitioner and her sister and therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

Heard Mr.T.C.S.Rajachockalingam, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.P.Srinivas, learned counsel appearing for the respondent.

Mr.P.Srinivas, learned counsel appearing for the respondent would submit that already an order has been passed changing the property tax in the name of the petitioner as well as in her sister's name and the order is yet to be dispatched.

Recording the above statement, this Court only directs the respondent to serve the order changing the names in the property tax in favour of the petitioner and her sister, if it is not served upon them, within 10 days from the date of the receipt of a copy of the order.
