ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to give police protection for providing electricity connection in Survey Nos.254 and 255 situated in Dr.Ambedkar Nagar, Kolathur, Chennai 99, based on the representation made by the petitioner dated 13.04.2023 within the time frame as fixed by this Court in accordance with law.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (crl.side) for the first respondent and perused the entire materials available on record.

3. It is seen that the petitioner has lodged a complaint before the second respondent on 13.04.2023 for giving police protection to him for providing electricity connection and after lodging the complaint, when the electricity department officials have planned to commence their work in the petitioner's premises, the petitioner's brother and his wife restraining them from discharging their official duties with an intention to disturb the 2/4

petitioner's peaceful possession and enjoyment of his property. It is also seen that all the allegations are civil in nature. 4.Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case, the prayer sought for in this petition cannot be considered. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the Civil Court for appropriate relief in the manner known to law.
