- - - - - - C O M M O N O R D E R With the consent of the learned counsel appearing for the parties, these writ petitions are taken up for final disposal.
2. Heard Mr.B.Nedunchezhiyan learned counsel for the petitioner, Mrs.M.E.Raniselvam, Additional Government Pleader for the first respondent and Mr.D.Krishnakumar for the second and third respondents.
3. These writ petitions had been filed praying to direct the respondents to dispose the representations of the petitioner dated 16/2/2015 to make correction in the Computer Demand pertaining to the property tax.
4. Pursuant to a on-line demand, the property tax assessment in respect of the petitioner's properties sought to be revised. The petitioner has submitted his representations on 16/2/2015 which have been received by the respondents as could be seen from the postal acknowledgement cards and the copies of which have been annexed in the typed set of papers. Though the demand was made, it does not mean that the respondents, without affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, can pass orders. Since there is a proposal to revise the assessment, the petitioner should be heard in the matters.
5. Accordingly, there will be a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioners representation's dated 16/2/2015 and affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, pass a reasoned order, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
