Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to grant freedom fighter pension payable by the State Government within a stipulated time prescribed by this Court pursuant to the representation dated 12.03.2015.

ORDER

Seeking payment of freedom fighter pension, a representation was given by the petitioner, who is said to be aged about 90 years. On its non-consideration, the present writ petition has been filed. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2.The petitioner made a representation to the Government, seeking payment of freedom fighter pension. On receipt of the petitioner's representation dated 12.03.2015, the Government has referred the same to the second respondent in and by letter No.9886/Aa.O.3/2015-1 dated 07.04.2015. Inspite of the same, no action has been taken on the representation of the petitioner. 3.Taking into consideration the pendency of the representation made by the petitioner with the second respondent as well as the communication dated 07.04.2015, a direction is issued to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.04.2015 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
