By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner was appointed as Grade-II Constable on 21.08.1972 and got promotion as Grade-I Constable on 05.03.1993 ; got further promotion as Head Constable on 09.01.1998. The petitioner got his promotion as Special Sub Inspector of Police in the year 2008 and he retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation on 31.01.2011 and according to him, he has rendered a total service of 38 years and 4 months, honestly and sincerely without any blemish. The claim of the petitioner is that in terms of G.O.Ms.No.15, Home Department, dated 07.01.2010, he is entitled to get promotion to the post of Sub-Inspector for the reason that he as completed 25 years of total service on 21.08.1997 and in this regard, he has submitted a representation to the respondent on 22.08.2015 and since no orders have been passed, he came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the matter in issue is squarely covered by the common order dated 27.11.2013 made in WP. [MD] No.18967 & 18968/2013 and hence prays for appropriate orders.

4. This Court heard the submissions of Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

5. Though the petitioner has sought for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 22.08.2015 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
