The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to extend the leave to the father of the petitioner/convict namely, Govindarajan, S/o. Bhagavathi Perumal (CT No.6840) aged about 89 years until decision taken by the first respondent based on the recommendation of the Advisory Board to Premature release.
2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondents would submit that the application seeking premature release of the prisoner is under consideration on the file of the Government. The process may take more time and therefore, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor has no serious objection for extension of ordinary leave already granted by this Court on 17.04.2025, which expires on 29.04.2025.
3. In view of the fact that we are inclined to extend the ordinary leave for further period of 30 days on the same conditions as imposed in W.P.No.4949 of 2025 dated 07.03.2025.
4. Accordingly, the leave already granted to the convict viz., Govindarjan, S/o. Bhagavathi Perumal (CT No.6840) aged about 89 years, by this Court, on 17.04.2025, which expires on 29.04.2025 is extended for further period of 30 days till 29.05.2025.
