ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed for a direction to the respondents to preserve the CCTV recording/footage of the CCTV camera placed outside the Police Control Room, City Civil Court, Madras High Court campus between 13.00 P.M to 15.00 P.M on 05.04.2025 and place a copy of the same in the safe custody of the first respondent.

2. Upon hearing of the learned Counsel for the petitioner and perusing the affidavit filed in support of the Writ Petition, the grievance of the petitioner is regarding the petitioner's husband namely, Prashanth Ramesh, attending the Family Court hearing on a particular day with another person as a couple. Therefore, the petitioner seeks to preserve the CCTV footage in 2/5

respect of the same.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, originally, there was a doubt as to which CCTV camera recording, the petitioner wanted to preserve. In that view of the matter, this Court passed over the matter by requesting the learned Counsels for the petitioner as well as the respondents to visit the spot and identify as to which CCTV camera, the petitioner wanted to preserve.

4. Accordingly, the learned Counsels visited the particular place and identified the camera. It is submitted by the respondents that the footage is still available. It is now turned out that the said CCTV is installed by the second respondent and the footage is also available and that it will be kept in the safe custody of the second respondent.

5. In view thereof, the purpose of the petitioner is already served and 3/5

the petitioner can summon the said footage in the manner known to law for her purpose as may be permissible under law. This Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
