PRAYER : This Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C., to direct the 1 & 2 respondents to provide adequate police protection to the life and limb of the petitioners.

O R D E R
This Criminal Original Petition is filed directing the first and second respondents to provide adequate police protection to the life and limb of the petitioners.
2. The submissions of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners are as follows:
2.1 The petitioners herein are husband and wife and respondents 5 and 6 are father and brother of the first petitioner respectively. The petitioners are aged about 27 and 28 years respectively and they are loving each other for the past 11 years and since, both the petitioners belong to the different caste, the 2/6
family members of the first petitioner vehemently opposed their relationship and threatened to kill the petitioners to protect their honor. Thereby, apprehending the danger from respondents 5 and 6, the petitioners performed their marriage on their own consent in witness of their friends and well wishers and registered the same at the office of the Sub-Registrar at Periyamet. However, respondents 5 and 6 along with their henchmen threatened and harassed the family members and friends of the 2nd petitioner and enquired about the whereabouts of the petitioners.
2.2 Therefore, fearing the danger of honor killing, the petitioners have not visited their native at Thanjavur District. Further, the fourth respondent colluded with respondents 5 and 6 filed a women missing case based on the complaint given by the 5th respondent and also providing intel to the 6th respondent to find the whereabouts of the petitioners. Therefore, the petitioners have lodged a complaint before the first respondent and the same was forwarded to the 2nd respondent, who has taken up the case in C.S.R.No.349 of 2024, whereas, thereafter, no action was taken by the 2nd respondent and hence fearing death, the petitioners have filed the present Criminal Original Petition. 3/6
3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent Police submitted that based on the complaint given by the petitioners, CSR.No.349 of 2024 was registered and the enquiry is pending.
4. I have considered the submission of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent police.
5. Recording the submission of the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), this Court directs the first and second respondents to conduct enquiry within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
