Mr.Md.Fayas Ali, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondent. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner seeks for a Mandamus, directing the respondent to conduct elections to Nethaji Nagar Burma Tamil Muslim Jumma Mosque, Chennai, as sought for by the petitioner through his representation dated 25.01.2018.

3. According to the petitioner, election to the said WAKF is due from 2013 onwards and therefore, the respondent has to take immediate steps to conduct election.

4. The learned standing counsel for the respondent submitted that though the election can be conducted, the results cannot be declared, since the Board elected to the Tamil Nadu WAKF is yet to commence its business, as the constitution of the Board in https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

In any event as the petitioner made a representation on 25.01.2018, it is for the respondent to consider and pass orders on the same and communicate the said order to the petitioner, without loss of further time. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of, only by directing the respondent to consider the said request of the petitioner and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
