ORDER
The petitioner in this writ petition served as Grade - II Constable in the Police Department from 25.05.1988 to 14.08.1997. Thereafer he was selected and joined as Secondary Grade teacher in the Tamilnadu School Education Service. The grievance of the writ petitioner is that the service rendered by him as Grade - II Constable in Police Department has not been taken into account for the purpose of calculating the qualifying service for pensionary benefits. The past service rendered with the State Government is to be taken as qualifying service for the purpose of disbursement of pensionary benefits. But the benefit of counting of qualifying service was denied to the writ petitioner and in this regard, he has submitted representations on 24.08.2016 and 22.03.2017.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the writ petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner submitted that it would suffice if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the representation and pass orders. Accordingly, the first respondent is directed to consider the representations submitted by the writ petitioner on 24.08.2016 and 22.03.2017 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petitioner is directed to submit a copy of his representations to the first respondent along with the order passed in this writ petition. The writ petition stands disposed of. However, there is no order as to costs.
