ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 13.03.2024.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that in this case, the petitioner had acquired the subject property by way of registered will dated 07.10.1999. Thereafter, when he checked the UDR, to his shock the subject land was classified as "Anadheenam". Hence, he approached the 2nd respondent vide representation dated 11.07.2020. The said representation was disposed of vide order dated 23.01.2024. Aggrieved over the said order, an appeal was preferred by the petitioner on 13.03.2024. However, the said appeal was not at all considered by the respondent till date. Hence, this writ petition. 2/6

3. In reply, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 would request this Court to pass appropriate orders directing the 1st respondent to consider and dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate for the respondents 1 to 4 and also perused the materials available on record.

5. In the case on hand, initially, the petitioner had acquired the subject property by virtue of registered will dated 07.10.1999. Thereafter, upon checking the UDR, he came to know that the subject land was classified as "Anadheenam". Hence, immediately, he approached the 2nd respondent vide representation dated 11.07.2020 to convert the subject land as patta land. The said representation was disposed of by the 2nd respondent vide order dated 23.01.2024. Aggrieved over the said order, an appeal was preferred by the petitioner 3/6

on 13.03.2024. However, the said appeal was not considered by the 1st respondent till date.

6. In view of the above, this Court directs the 1st respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 13.03.2024, on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

7. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is also closed. 04.09.2025 Speaking/Non-speaking order Index : Yes / No nsa To
