This Writ Petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.03.2024 and reminder dated 04.05.2024 and to grant adequate police protection to worship the Periyandavar without any interruption from miscreants to promote the religious right of 700 families of Kavara Naidu.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that a similar complaint has also been given before the Superintendent of Police, Salem.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent and perused the materials available on record.
4. It is seen that the petitioner's representation is still pending with the respondent.
5. Considering the facts and submissions of the learned counsel on
either side and the limited prayer sought for in this Writ Petition, this Court without going into the merits of the case, directs the Superintendent of Police, Salem to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.03.2024 and followed by the reminder dated 04.05.2024 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. The abovesaid exercise shall be completed within a period two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the abovesaid direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
