Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus by directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 03.09.2015 to take necessary steps to select the petitioner to the post of driver in the 2nd Respondent Corporation.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 2.The petitioner was selected to the post of Driver on 08.03.2010 and certificate verification was also made on 15.03.2010 and however, the selection process was dropped due to some unforeseen circumstances. The petitioner in this regard, has submitted representation dated 03.09.2015 to consider his claim and appoint him as Driver and since no order has been passed, came forward to file this writ petition.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the selection process has commenced and for the reasons best known to the respondents, it was suddenly dropped and therefore,the petitioner and other persons similarly placed are left in lurch and hence, prays for appropriate orders.

4.Heard the submissions of Mr.P.Ravi Shankar Rao, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.R.Syed Mustafa, learned Government Pleader (Pondy) who accepts notice on behalf of the first respondent and Mr.A.R.Nixon, learned counsel who accepts notice on behalf of the second respondent.

5.This Court taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the same, directs the respondents 1 and 2 to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 03.09.2015 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. 6.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
