ORDER

This petition is filed praying for a direction to the respondent police to expeditiously complete the investigation in Crime No.80 of 2014 and file a final report.

2.A complaint has been lodged by this petitioner as against one Karunan @ Karunanithi son of late.Manokaran for the alleged offence punishable under Section 420 of IPC. Though the complaint has been registered in Crime No.80 of 2014 as early as on 16.10.2014, till date the final report has not been filed. Hence, this petition.

3.Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the accused has collected chit amount from more than 125 persons and cheated them. Hence, during investigation lot of documents have to be verified and therefore, it would take considerable time to complete the investigation.

4.I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as the learned Additional Public Prosecutor. 5.In view of the submissions made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Court directs the respondent police to expedite the investigation, complete the same and file final report as early as possible. This Criminal Original Petition is ordered accordingly.
